Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949, is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a speaker, consultant, columnist syndicated, speaker as an author, author, and television presenter. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she started. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the company. Corcoran was among the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran has signed 53 deals until February 2020. Her biggest deal was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was second of a family of 10 kids who was born in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mother was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly switching jobs throughout Corcoran's entire life. At times, the family depended on food delivery for free from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as one who occasionally consumed too much alcohol and did her mother a disservice and contempt, particularly when he was drinking. Corcoran struggled in school, and later found out that she was dyslexic. Corcoran started in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after attending an Catholic primary school. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
